A road show for the people in the rural districts of Tawake, Saqani, Vaturova and Koroalau in Cakaudrove from June 20 to 21 will be opened by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

“Right now all the district reps in the mentioned areas are going around advising people on these dates,” Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea said.

“This road show was supposed to be held in April but was postponed because of the overseas commitments of our Honourable Prime Minister Mr Bainimarama.”

Mr Vocea yesterday was urging members of the public to turn up in numbers to the event at villages in Saqani.

He said transportation would be provided as it would be accommodated in the $50,000 budget for the road show.

“From the coastal villages to the interior ones such as Valovoni, Nadogo, Nacula and Nayarabale, transportation would be provided,” Mr Vocea said.

“Everything would be arranged and accommodated by Government.”

He said the road shows were important as it was a way to decentralise Government services to the people in the rural areas.

“But for these two days, we will be taking these services to them and services include, birth and marriage registration, registering people in Vola ni Kawa Bula  and so on,” Mr Vocea said.

“And other services offered by Government Departments and stakeholders will be provided for during the event.”
